The United Spinal Association of Pittsburgh seeks to improve the quality of life of individuals with spinal cord injuries and all wheelchair users by providing peer support, community education, connections to resources, and by advocating for disability rights.
We help support the peer mentoring program on the spinal cord injury unit at UPMC Mercy hospital in Pittsburgh and ensure that newly injured and diagnosed individuals receive information about local resources before returning home.
Membership
Individual membership is free and open to people with spinal cord injuries or disorders, mobility disabilities, family members, care providers, health care professionals, and interested individuals.
Peer support
United Spinal Association understands how vital peer support is for many wheelchair users living successfully in their communities. We offer a robust peer support program that includes one-on-one peer mentoring, virtual and in-person support group meetings.
